You don’t get to build a movement without picking up bruises.
Not everyone who shouts your name in the crowd
will stay with you in the garden.
Some will walk away.
Some will misunderstand the call.
Some will betray you with a kiss
and still expect you to keep feeding the five thousand.
And yet,
you are still called to love.
You are still called to forgive.
Not because they deserve it…
but because you were freely forgiven first.
Because Jesus loved you when you were still running.
And now He’s saying:
“Do for them what I did for you.”
This isn’t about being a doormat.
This is about choosing freedom over bitterness.
Authority and mercy.
Truth and grace.
Luke 23:34, while nailed to a cross,
with blood still fresh and betrayal still raw,
Jesus said,
“Father, forgive them,
for they know not what they do.”
That’s not weakness.
That’s divine strength.
And that’s your calling too.
To keep loving even when the wounds still ache.
To release them, even when you never got closure.
To bless them, even when they talked behind your back.
Why?
Because your anointing is too precious to be poisoned by resentment.
Because your oil flows better when your heart stays pure.
Because the power you carry must be wrapped in mercy
or it will begin to crush instead of cover.
So keep leading,
but don’t lose your tenderness.
Keep building,
but don’t barricade your heart.
You can forgive and still create boundaries.
You can love and still be wise.
You can lead with fire
and still wash feet.
That’s what Jesus did.
And that’s what you’re becoming.
