The Fire Will Cost You

Everyone wants the fire.
The anointing.
The glory.
The oil.

But not everyone wants the altar.
Not everyone wants the cost.

Because carrying the fire of God won’t just set you ablaze—
it will set you apart.

When God puts His hand on your life,
He also calls you higher.
He cuts away the extra.
He burns off the comfort.
He removes what cannot carry the weight of what He’s pouring into you.

And make no mistake—the fire costs.

It costs your pride.
It costs your plans.
It costs your need to be understood.
It costs the shallow connections that don’t want to go deeper.
It costs your ability to blend in—because fire was never meant to be hidden.

Ask Moses.
The fire made him leave the palace and walk into purpose.

Ask Elijah.
The fire set him against kings and false prophets.

Ask Jesus.
The fire in His eyes led Him to a cross before it led Him to resurrection.

Because holy fire doesn’t come to entertain—it comes to consume.
It consumes sin.
It consumes self.
It consumes apathy.
It refines what man applauds and leaves only what heaven can use.

But here’s the mystery—
Though the fire costs you everything,
you lose nothing worth keeping.

Because what the fire consumes,
God replaces with glory.
What it burns,
God resurrects in power.

And when you carry the fire—
you carry more than a moment.
You carry a message.
You carry movement.
You carry something hell can’t counterfeit and heaven can’t ignore.

But you have to be willing.
To be misunderstood.
To be consecrated.
To be set ablaze—even if it means walking alone.

So count the cost.
Lay it all down.
And say again,
“God, make me an altar. Whatever it takes—keep me burning.”

Because the fire may cost you…
but it’s worth everything.
