We live in a world full of voices.
Loud ones.
Lying ones.
Confusing ones.
Competing for our attention, our affection, our direction.
But there’s one voice that cuts through the noise.
One voice that brings peace when everything feels uncertain.
One voice that calls you not to perform, but to follow.
It’s the voice of the Shepherd.
Jesus said in John 10:27,
“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”
He didn’t say we might hear Him.
He didn’t say we need to earn the right to hear.
He said, “My sheep listen.”
That means if you belong to Him, you can recognize His voice.
It may not always come loudly.
It may not always make sense at first.
But it always carries peace.
It always brings clarity.
And it always draws you closer to Him.
Because the voice of the Shepherd doesn’t push, it leads.
It doesn’t shame, it invites.
It doesn’t confuse, it confirms.
And here’s the truth:
If we want to know His voice,
We must spend time at His feet.
Because proximity produces familiarity.
The more you sit with Him,
The more you’ll recognize the tone of heaven.
And the more you recognize His voice,
The less power the other ones have.
The voice that says you’re not enough?
It’s not Him.
The voice that stirs anxiety and dread?
Not Him.
The voice that says you missed your moment?
Still not Him.
His voice may convict, but it never condemns.
It may correct, but it always carries compassion.
And when you don’t know what to do,
Wait for His voice.
Not the pressure of people.
Not the panic of your flesh.
Just wait.
He’s still speaking.
Because He’s not just a Savior.
He’s a Shepherd.
He doesn’t just rescue, He leads.
Through valleys.
Beside still waters.
Into green pastures.
And sometimes through wildernesses that make no sense,
but still carry His presence.
So today, tune your ear.
Slow down your soul.
Say, “Speak, Lord, Your daughter is listening.”
And then move when He moves.
Stop when He says wait.
Trust when He says, “This is the way, walk in it.”
Because you weren’t made to follow trends.
You were made to follow the Shepherd.
And when He leads,
You will lack nothing.
