From the very beginning, God has never looked for performance,
He’s looked for a place.
A place where His presence is wanted.
Where His name is honored.
Where His glory doesn’t have to compete with agendas, egos, or noise.
In Exodus 25:8, He said,
“Have them make a sanctuary for Me, and I will dwell among them.”
God wants to dwell.
Not pass through.
Not appear occasionally.
He wants to abide.
But He doesn’t dwell just anywhere.
He dwells where there is honor.
Where there is holiness.
Where there is hunger.
And He’s still asking us to build.
Not just churches… but homes filled with prayer.
Not just gatherings… but hearts wide open.
Not just services… but spaces where He is the center.
Because a house for His glory isn’t built with stone,
It’s built with surrender.
With every “yes” when no one is watching.
With every quiet act of obedience.
With every moment we say, “God, not my will, but Yours.”
He doesn’t dwell where He’s boxed in.
He dwells where He’s welcomed fully.
So ask yourself:
Is He comfortable in what I’m building?
Or have I made it too much about me?
Because He won’t share space with pride.
He won’t rest where there’s pretense.
But give Him a house made of humility?
He’ll fill it with fire.
Just like Solomon’s temple.
When everything was in place, pure, holy, set apart,
The glory of the Lord filled the temple like a cloud.
So thick the priests couldn’t even stand.
That’s what happens when we make room.
And He still comes like that,
To the simple, the surrendered, the sacred space built not for performance, but for His pleasure.
So build Him a house with your time.
With your worship.
With your home.
With your ministry.
With your lifestyle.
With your silence.
With your reverence.
Let your life say:
“You are welcome to dwell here, Lord.”
And when He comes,
Nothing stays the same.
Because where His glory rests,
There’s healing.
There’s clarity.
There’s repentance.
There’s holiness.
There’s revival.
Don’t just ask for His presence, build for it.
Don’t just pray for a moment, prepare for His habitation.
Let this be the generation that doesn’t settle for visits,
Let this be the generation that builds Him a home.
