When Nehemiah walked through the broken walls of Jerusalem,
he didn’t see the end of a story.
He saw the beginning of a rebuilding.
Others saw destruction
Nehemiah saw destiny.
Because with God, ruins are never the final chapter.
Isaiah 61:3 says He gives,
“…beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”
Notice
God doesn’t add beauty to the ruins.
He transforms them.
The ashes themselves become the soil where beauty grows.
You may be standing in what you think is the aftermath
but heaven calls it a construction site.
A place where His glory will dwell.
A place where testimony will rise from the dust.
The broken stones of your story are not wasted.
The cracks let His light through.
The empty spaces make room for His presence.
The jagged edges will one day tell of His healing.
And when it’s rebuilt,
it won’t just be what it was
it will be stronger,
more beautiful,
more holy,
because it will carry the fingerprints of the Redeemer.
Psalm 126:1–3 says,
“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed… The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
One day, you’ll look at the place you’re standing now
and say, “I never thought it could be this beautiful again.”
Until then
walk the ruins with hope.
See the potential.
Hear the sound of hammers in the Spirit.
And know
God builds masterpieces from what man calls broken.
