You’ve carried people.
You’ve carried vision.
You’ve carried fire.
But lately, you’ve been wondering if you have anything left to carry you.
You lead others to still waters
but your own soul is parched.
You’ve created space for everyone else to be seen,
held,
healed
and now, in the quiet,
you’re the one in need.
And here’s the truth the enemy hates for you to know:
Rest is not rebellion.
It’s obedience.
Even Jesus, the Son of God, the miracle worker,
the revival in motion
withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:16)
He didn’t just rest His body
He rested His soul.
He stepped away not out of weakness,
but out of wisdom.
Because burning forever requires refueling often.
Rest is not quitting.
It’s realigning.
It’s not selfishness.
It’s sacred rhythm.
You were never meant to pour without being filled.
Never meant to give without receiving.
Never meant to carry the Kingdom without also being carried by the King.
So lay it down for a moment.
Not the call.
Not the fire.
Just the burden of always being the strong one.
Let Him hold you.
Let Him heal you.
Let Him be Father to you,
not just to the ones you’re raising.
Because Psalm 23 was never just for the broken
it was for the builders.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.”
Let Him do that.
Let Him find you again
beneath the noise, behind the assignments,
inside the weariness.
Because the greatest leaders
are not the ones who never grow tired
but the ones who know where to lay their head.
And beloved, the altar is still open.
Not just for sacrifice
but for rest.
