There was a time when God’s presence dwelled in buildings.
Stone walls.
Holy places.
A room called the Holy of Holies, where only one priest could enter, once a year.
But when Jesus tore the veil, He didn’t just make a way into God’s presence.
He made a way for God’s presence to enter us.
And now, we are the dwelling place.
Not temples made by hands.
But hearts made holy by mercy.
1 Corinthians 6:19 says,
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?”
Do you not know?
Do we not realize?
The glory that used to rest on mountaintops… now rests in you.
Not because we earned it.
Not because we deserved it.
But because Jesus made us clean enough for heaven to move in.
You are not ordinary.
You are not empty.
You are not forgotten.
You are a sanctuary.
That means we don’t carry His presence one day a week, we carry it daily.
In the grocery store.
In the hospital waiting room.
In the classroom.
In the car.
Everywhere we go… glory goes with us.
But with that glory comes a call:
Keep the temple pure.
Not perfect.
But postured.
Surrendered.
Set apart.
Consecrated for His use.
We don’t host the Holy Spirit casually.
We don’t carry the weight of glory without reverence.
We say with our lives,
“This is holy ground, because He lives here.”
So we ask:
Am I giving Him a resting place or just a rented space?
Does He have access to all of me, or just the parts I’m willing to surrender?
Because He’s not looking for part-time residents.
He’s looking for permanent dwelling.
People who make room.
People who keep the lamp burning.
People who say,
“Lord, if You’re looking for a home, let it be me.”
Let Him shape your thoughts.
Guard your tongue.
Purify your motives.
Sanctify your schedule.
Because you carry something holy.
And when we live like the temple we are,
We don’t have to chase encounters.
We become the encounter.
The presence walks with us.
Peace flows from us.
Healing moves through us.
Not because of us,
But because He lives in us.
