This is Holy Ground

There’s a kind of awe that silences a room.
A weight that presses in, not to crush you, but to remind you:
God is here.

Not a feeling.
Not a concept.
Not an idea.
A holy, living, consuming Presence.

And when God is near… everything shifts.
Our posture changes.
Our words slow down.
Our plans fall away.
Because this is not ordinary ground anymore.

This is holy ground.

Exodus 3:5 says,
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

Why?
Because the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had just stepped into the moment.
And when the Holy One enters, we don’t respond casually, we respond in awe.

The fear of the Lord is not about panic.
It’s about posture.
It’s not about being scared… it’s about being still.
It’s the deep awareness that we are in the presence of the Almighty.
The God who speaks stars into being.
The God whose breath splits seas.
The God whose holiness makes angels cover their faces and cry, “Holy, Holy, Holy.”

And that same God draws near to us.

But He doesn’t come where there’s no reverence.
He comes where hearts are bowed.
Where worship isn’t performance, it’s surrender.
Where lives aren’t self-led, they’re Spirit-led.

Because the fear of the Lord isn’t a moment.
It’s a lifestyle.

It’s choosing obedience even when no one is watching.
It’s walking away from compromise before it costs you glory.
It’s honoring Him with your thoughts, your choices, your time.
It’s refusing to treat what’s holy as common.

Too many have grown casual in a place that’s meant to be sacred.
We’ve gotten comfortable with His name while forgetting the weight of His presence.
But God is restoring a holy fear to His people.
Not to make us shrink… but to make us tremble with wonder.

The fear of the Lord leads to wisdom.
The fear of the Lord anchors us in purity.
The fear of the Lord keeps us from drifting.
The fear of the Lord draws His glory closer.

Because He does not dwell where He is merely mentioned.
He dwells where He is honored.

So today, let us return to holy ground.
Let us tear down pride and pick up reverence.
Let us walk softly where angels cry out.
Let us worship like He’s worthy.
Let us live like He’s watching, because He is.
And let our hearts forever say:
“You are holy, and You are welcome here.”
